The Department of Tourism (DOT) Statement

The Department of Tourism (DOT) wants to remind everyone that following the health and safety standards is a shared duty.

Following complaints of irresponsible tourist activities such as fabricating RT-PCR testing, faking identity cards, and conducting illegal meetings in tourism sites throughout the country, the DOT issued a strong warning.

The DOT urges its tourist industry partners to rigorously enforce health and safety standards and to place a premium on the safety of visitors, tourism workers, and the host community.

All stakeholders—government agencies, local government units (LGUs), commercial tourist businesses, visitors, and other industry players—must work together to guarantee the tourism sector’s rapid recovery, according to the Department.
